Belief (Blog from My Guides)

What is belief?  You humans think that to believe is to know something for certain but we say to you that belief is much more than that.  Belief involves knowing in your heart when something is true.  This is much different than knowing with the mind.  The mind wants to question everything; wants proof.  The heart says “I do not need to be shown.  I feel the truth of the matter in my bones and that is enough for me.”

Let us give you this example.  When a young baby cries and the mother says “I know what is wrong.  My baby is hungry” you may say that this is a matter of the mind of the mother knowing the patterns of the child and this can be true also.  But more often it is a knowingness on the part of the mother or what you call mother’s intuition.  Mother’s intuition is nothing more than the soul of the mother touching the soul of the infant.  You do this with each other all the time but do not recognize it.  Here is another example.  You think of a person and then the phone rings and it is them.  These things do not equate to a knowing with the mind but to a knowing with the soul.  Your spirit is much stronger than you think; it knows things you cannot possibly know by any other means.

We tell you these things so that you begin to pay attention to the little details that come to you.  Do not dismiss them.  Encourage them.  If you find that you have an ability to sense the emotions of others you may be an empath; one who absorbs the energy of others to read their mental state.  You must be careful not to do so unawares and take on their emotions as your own.

Belief and your intuitive senses are different sides of the same coin.  If you believe, you will continue to develop your intuitive senses, and likewise, as your connection to Spirit and your intuition strengthens, so does your belief in the reality of the unseen world – what you cannot perceive with your human senses.

In this way what first seemed incredible and impossible becomes the norm.  Knowing more than what others know becomes your way of life.  Soon you find that you solve problems and plot your way forward not with the head but with the heart.  Life becomes a flow of doing what feels right in any given minute whether it is what you had planned or not.  Can you live like this?  Can you truly put yourself in the hands of your own spirit and the spirit of those around you to be guided in an unseen manner?  This is our challenge to you.

How Do You Know if Your Guides are Trying to Communicate with You?

The answer is easy; they always are. You just don’t notice it. That’s because you are too consumed by the day-to-day events in living your life here on the Earth plane. Here is what My Guides had to say about it:

Speaking for all Guides everywhere, we want to tell you that we are ALWAYS waiting for the moment when you notice we are there. Do you know how excited we get when a song comes on the radio that we have sent you as a message, and you pause just for that moment and wonder if there is something more behind the words? There IS. That is us, or perhaps it is one of your deceased loved ones trying to reach you.

The ways that Spirit reaches out are not the ways portrayed in your TV programs. We do not rattle chains and materialize before you to give you a fright. Quite the opposite. We look for the gentle and subtle ways to reach your mind and heart. For example, as we have said above, we often like to come to you through songs. There are different ways we do this. One is to place a song in your head when you are asleep, that comes to the forefront of your mind just as you are waking up. It does not matter if it is a song you heard yesterday or one from many years ago. Do you know all the lyrics? If not, Google them (yes, we said Google; we know your thoughts and your ways you know) and look for the message we have sent you. You will recognize it by the way it feels inside when you reach the key words or phrase. A knowingness will come over you; a resonance with the words and their meaning, and their meaning for you.

Another way we reach you involves sending gentle breezes or drafts of air over you at a time when there should be no breeze. We will never use this means to get your attention when you are outside, but what about when you are in an enclosed room and nowhere near the air vent? Have you ever experienced that?

What about feeling that there was a presence with you even though you were apparently all alone?

And you must have noticed the electronics? The way we can affect electricity to make lights flicker or electronics turn on and off?

These are the ways that we whisper in your ear “We are here. We love you. Let us guide you.”

So what do you do with all this you ask? Give us some time to speak with you. Even if you cannot understand our words we can make our thoughts known to you in other ways. Give us an opening; a time when you are not consumed with thoughts of the day. Meditation is one way but there are others. We like it when you humans are doing repetitive or mindless tasks like driving, for it frees you to receive our impressions.

When something comes to you do not immediately dismiss it. Roll it around in your mind. Is it a natural continuation of a thought you had, or did it seemingly come from nowhere? The latter may be us trying to reach you. Be aware. Develop a discipline in your mind until you can discern that which is you and that which is us. And never, EVER dismiss a thought from your guides without fully considering what has been brought before you. We have planted that thought for a reason; usually to steer you on a more helpful course because we can see the big picture of your life.

We are pleased to have had this opportunity to speak with you. We hope to address you again at some point in the future.

Free Will or Predestination?

Many of you will have struggled, from time to time, with whether your life is a fait accompli or an evolving work in progress.  Do you wonder if you really have control, or if all the shots are decided by someone – or something – else?  Do we really come into this world free to live the life we want, or were those decisions already made for us, our lives playing out in some pre-determined way?

What if I told you it is a little bit of both?  Yes, you had a plan for yourself for this life; things you wanted to experience and accomplish and learn.  But you had no set way to do this.  You came to this world like a child to a playground, open to experiencing and in love with life.  Then the world told you you needed to be like this or like that.  “Be responsible, get a job, earn a good living.”  But what if your life was meant to be so much more than that?  What if the playground is the way life was meant to be?  What if your fondest dreams could become reality and you could live a life that makes your heart sing?

It begins by tapping into your own spirit – who you really are.  I am not talking about the persona you have carried throughout your life or how other people see you.  I am referring to your true essence – who you are inside.

“And how do I find this true essence?” you ask.  It is far simpler than you may think.  Go back to a time that you experienced pure joy or pure love.  What did you really feel in that instant?  Freedom?  Excitement?  That you were truly alive?  And what were the circumstances that led to that moment of illumination?  Were you about to take a leap into the beyond, to try something radically different that you had always wanted to experience?  Or maybe you realized the impact you had had on another person’s life, for the better.  Try to re-capture those memories and really immerse yourself in them.  How did they make you feel?  What was it about the experience that brought your soul to life?  Figuring this out is the first step to making your dreams a reality.  Once you begin to concretely define what motivates and energizes you, you can begin to take steps toward it.

Still not sure exactly what that is?  Then try the reverse of defining what it is not.  Make a mental list of what you do, and don’t, want in the next stage of your life’s journey.  Your Guides know what is in your heart – you do not need to define it for Them, only for yourself to clarify your vision.  Then ask the Universe to help you get there.  Don’t be surprised if opportunities begin to present themselves to you.  Be alert.  Be diligent.  Do not miss a chance to experience what has been offered to you, as this will help you better define where your passions lie.  And you don’t need to see each step of the plan forward.  All you need to do is trust that what you need for your new life will be brought to you in the proper time, in the proper way.

And what happens next?  The Universe begins to unfold as it should.  People, places and opportunities are put in your path, seemingly effortlessly.  Your soul feels more at peace, as it begins to come into its own.  And life takes the most exciting and unexpected turns that you could never have foreseen.  Every day becomes an adventure.

Don’t Forget What You Know

OK, this is embarrassing.

On my last blog I told you all about the importance of meditating daily.  About setting a schedule and just doing it.  About the peace that it brings you as well as the insights and connection to your higher self and Your Guides.

Well, I am here to say that lately I have not been practising what I’ve been preaching.  I admit it – I have entirely fallen away from my meditation practice.

Oh I can come up with reasons for this.  Can’t we all?  Life is busy and that is unlikely to change anytime soon.  But no more excuses.

I see the subtle difference in myself and I don’t like it.  Without my morning meditation no longer do I start my day with that sense of peace and focus on what is truly important to me.  Without that bigger picture I can’t always remain centred when the workday gets crazy or my life is somehow turned upside down.

I haven’t been doing too badly because I have one thing working in my favour.  Since I lost my husband I am no longer that type A person who has to be busy every minute nor do I have constant thoughts and ‘noise’ in my head.  So I am leaving open a window to allow my higher self and My Guides to come through…right?

But what if that isn’t enough?  I think I may just be kidding myself and here’s why: because without a daily practice of meditation I see that I am starting to slowly creep back to my former type A personality.  It happens so subtly that it is hard at first to notice.  Yet, I am recognizing those thoughts that mislead me into taking inventory of whether I have accomplished enough in every day and every moment.  I am forgetting that the contentment of living ‘in spirit’ comes from existing in ‘the now’ of enjoying each moment and allowing life and events to flow the way they are meant to.  As Louise Hay says “I have all the time I need”.  How could I have lost sight of that?

So as much as I have enjoyed this time with you, I am going now to meditate…

Meet Your Guides

You don’t need me to talk to your guides.  You can do it all by yourself.  The best way to get in touch with ‘your team’ is through meditation.

Never meditated?  It’s not that hard.  But it does require a commitment.

Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed and clear your mind.  Let yourself sink into the silence, relaxing every muscle and going ‘within’.  I won’t give you instructions here; there are more than enough websites explaining different meditation techniques.  The important thing is to establish a practice; set aside a regular time each day, even if it is only 10 or 15 minutes.  Don’t worry if you can’t still your thoughts initially – there will certainly be ‘noise’ when you start.  However, if you persevere the chatter will recede, and the more you practice the easier it will become and the faster you will sink into the silence and peace.

When I first started meditating I couldn’t believe the inner peace it would bring me.  Quickly that evolved into ideas that would float into my mind, or insights into questions I had.  I began to understand and ‘know’ things without understanding how I knew them, yet I recognized the perceptions to be true.  Then it happened.  I felt that something or someone was trying to communicate with me.  While sitting in a closed area of my home I would feel the most gentle breeze caress my face or move over the top of my hand.

For me, the next step involved stumbling onto a website called InfiniteQuest and a function there called ‘Ask the Cards’.  This cleverly designed tool, along with books I read along the way such as Journey of Souls, is what eventually convinced me (oh yes, it took time!) that My Guides do exist and wanted to communicate.

It is very important to be open to the communication; the more you are, the more will come.  Your guides will never force you into anything but with every step you take towards them they will move closer to you.

There are excellent spiritual coaches who can expedite the process of learning to communicate with your guides.  Danielle MacKinnon is one such ‘spiritual director’ who opened a new world to me.  I would highly recommend her expertise for those looking to take the ultimate step of guide communication in a supportive and enjoyable environment.
